Short essay – What do you like in stories and what do you dislike in stories? Use examples from stories that you like or dislike.

Read Foster book (Preface, Introduction, Chapters 4-6)
Read Part 1 Fahrenheit 451 (Audio)
Writing for August 30
Write an essay about one of the following:
- One of the short stories we read this week
- Use of metaphors or similes in stories from this week
- Describing 4 metaphors or similes in detail
Reading for September 6
Finish Fahrenheit 451 and read chapters 7 and 8 from the Foster book.
Writing for September 6
Write a review of Fahrenheit 451 and offer your thoughts good and bad. Also, tell me why you think it may be an important book. This should be about 5-6 paragraphs.
Reading for September 13
Begin reading “The Book of the Dun Cow.” We’ll read it over the next three weeks. Also read, Foster chapters 3 and 10.

Then follow the instructions and write your own poem. Send me a copy and bring them to read next week.
